At this time, LPDA is available to teach our program in 1 school per year. However, for the 2011-2012 school year, the program will be available for placement in 2. Schools that just finished hosting the program may re-apply for placement at the end of the school year. They will be placed on a waiting list if other schools have applied. When resources and staffing increase, opportunities for program placement at multiple schools will become available.

LPDA currently operates at Stephens Middle School in Long Beach, California serving 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Students currently have class twice a week, based on this host-school’s schedule. Future schools may host our program between 2-4 times per week. Each class period is 2 hours long, includes a healthy snack period, and divulges dance history, social and socioeconomic learning. Students are required to maintain an average GPA of a 2.5 to participate and remain in the program.

The program runs on a Quarterly Schedule:

If your school is interested in placement of the LPDA Program, click the link below, fill out the form, and return it via the provided contact information below. Your computer must be able to read Adobe PDF documents. Once our Board of Directors has evaluated the information, and your form is approved, you school will be notified, and registration procedures will begin with your administrators, students and parents.

LPDA is still a relatively new entity, so funding and resources are limited. Our organization is doing all we can to put the performing arts back into schools where they belong. If you would like to help our effort, please click the Ballet shoe at the bottom of the page to make a secure, tax-deductible donation. Thank you, and we hope to be bringing the arts to your school soon!
